I deserve the success I desire

The above card — I deserve the success I desire — is definitely one of the cards that made it into The Sovereign Success Oracle because it’s a mantra I still need to fully integrate into my being.
I say ‘need’ here because, while I’m better at feeling I indeed deserve all of that and more, the battle isn’t over. I do allow myself to dream bigger and better, but, especially on my bad days, my ego still loves to try to remind me I’m not actually worth a damned thing.
Which, yes, I listen to less and less ;-) It’s been a hard year for my ego, what can I say?
Some piece of success I’ve been allowing myself to dream of this last weekend was expanding my Instagram account. I don’t pay much attention to my follower count — my standard account has had around 950 followers since forever, no matter what I do — but I’d noticed that my other account, the one I set up two years ago so I could share all of my woo-woo stuff, had hit 1400 followers on Friday.
Which made me wonder whether it’d be possible to reach 1500 by the end of the year. I mean, it’s not like I’m asking anything else for Christmas… My ego immediately told me off for entertaining such a pipedream, but my curiosity wouldn’t drop the notion. Because what if? And even if whatever I’d come up with to generate that extra number of followers wouldn’t get me the success I desired, wouldn’t that be a great lesson in itself? Literally, the worst that could happen is zero extra followers, and even my ego had to admit that happening was highly unlikely.
Which isn’t to say that my ego isn’t gearing up to tell me I am undeserving when I don’t manage to hit that magic number on 31 December. But that’s another thing I’ve been learning this year, that us not being able to manifest a certain thing doesn’t necessarily mean we’re not deserving of it. It could mean we’re not ready yet, that those involved aren’t ready yet, or that we’re actually in need of something else entirely.
It could also simply mean that the systems and platforms we’re using to manifest our desires are indeed designed to work against us — at least, they are now their owners are desperate to squeeze every singly penny out of them.
My ego still thinks me wanting to give it a shot is a terrible idea — it’s been awfully unamused since I started brainstorming — but I think it’s worth it one way or another. And after I did my little brainstorm, I even realised I could be hitting two proverbial birds with one stone:
I wasn’t going to host my annual Set Yourself Up for Success Tarot Challenge because I’m still mostly in survival mode after everything that’s happened this year and the thought of spending that much extra effort… Let’s just say my inner everything screamed ‘No’, and I couldn’t help but feel a little bit bad about it.
But… what if I gave the book away to people who followed me on Instagram and tagged a couple of their friends? Then I’d get my extra followers and they still got to do the challenge!
Half an hour later, I’d cobbled together a graphic, made up some rules, and posted it. Truly, things are so much simpler when you don’t let your ego call the shots… It continues to baffle me.
I can’t say I’m swimming in new followers yet (which my ego loves!), but it’s only the 2nd of December, and I’m now more curious to just observe what will happen. Like I said, it will at the very least teach me something about my reach (and how badly I, willingly, suck at algorithms).
So let’s see what the month does? What happens when I follow my curiosity, fueled by what I think I deserve, instead of my fears?
