I'm so sorry for the loss of your beautiful mother and the awful experiences leading up to it. We had a similar experience with my grandmother (open heart surgery that was supposed to be "easy"). It's like the pain is intensified by the experience of HOW you lost her. Again, I'm so sorry. Thank you for writing through it though and for sharing your vulnerability with us. Holding you close in spirit right now.

Oh my gosh, what a horrible thing to have to go through yourself, and to watch someone you love so much go through. In my experience in psychopomp work, not everyone is ready/willing when their body gives out. I think there's a difference between our human/incarnated point of view and our point of view from Beyond, where we have greater context and understanding. Many people feel that dying is a failure, a value inculcated by our culture. Usually, once people have stepped away from their incarnate self and gotten a little distance, they are able to see that it was actually their time, whether they wanted it to be or not. Being human isn't easy, that's for sure.
