I love this! It’s so empowering to be yourself. However, “Silence is Golden’ too. This works for me because I live in the South (USA). There are times I don’t feel safe to speak with certain people, nor do I want to listen to their response, especially when it comes to religion and politics. Although I responded to a stranger when he ranted about me being a Northerner (I grew up in New Jersey) and how my relatives were the Damn Yankees who fought in the Civil War. My response was, “What are you talking about? My relatives were living in Europe during the Civil War!” Giggle, he had no response for that.
Oh yes, picking your battles (wars? 😅) is part of this entire process 🤗 I'm still working on that, too, who I respond to and who not. I find it very hard to not respond to strangers' unnecessary questions at all, and I'm still unlearning having to be a good and polite girl.
It is and I, like many other women, was definitely been taught that polite equals giving other people what they want, often at the expense of yourself. So how can I respond in a way that's best for me in a moment? That's a question I've been struggling with for years now 😅
It's an ongoing lesson... For me it's often a choice of a strong boundary in a kind manner or be silent. Silence is often best for me when I want to be impolite and start cussing them out, LOL.

I first have to learn how to cuss people out, I think! Do teach me!
LOL Okay! Say the F word 10 times a day!
